At long last, the Adidas animation that Subversionz Media created for the launch of David Beckham’s new golden Adidas Predator has gone live on the interwebs. This is quite possible one of my favorite projects to date.
In spite of the fact that the timeline to create the video was brutal, I enjoyed every moment of the process. Once we got the green light to move forward on the video I had 4 days. One day to create the storyboards for approval, 3 days to create the animation. And we did it and it’s beautiful.
But here’s the really cool part. The video was posted to youtube on Sept. 21, 2011. As I write this, 16 days later, it’s already racked up over 20,000 views on youtube. On David Beckham’s Facebook page where it was posted on Sept. 27th, it has over 12,000 likes, 500+ comments, and 1000+ shares.
I feel honored to know that so many people are watching my work. It really is exciting to see where these videos end up once they are let loose in the world.
