Stop Motion Origami Play Time

Stop Motion Origami Play Time

For the last week, I’ve been playing around with origami stop motion for a video that I’ve been working on.  More details on that video coming soon.  But until then, here’s a peek at the origami stop motion process.

We tracked down an origami artist from Bellingham who came down to Seattle on Friday for the shoot.  He created some original designs for an origami dress, high heel shoe, and a jacket for our video.  You can check out Jeoss’s Origami Blog here to some more of his work.

We captured one frame and one fold at a time with my 7D on a “green screen” (green construction paper is a great substitute for an actual green screen).

The resulting stop motion looks like this:

These stop motion animations are being integrated in with some live action footage.  Should end up being pretty cool.  More details on the final video are coming in a week or two.
